On May 1, Paquito D’Rivera and Quinteto Cimarron got together online to perform one of their favorite concert pieces. The ensemble has performed many times with D’Rivera on tours and decided this is a great time to play together online.
Almendra” is by Abelardo Valdes, most famous Danzon, and this is a delicious arrangement by the violist Eduardo Cana that we usually play in my performances with the ‘Cimarron’ string quintet, one of my favorite musical ensembles.”
